leather lady

I’m {jumping up and down!} excited to debut a colorful + fun new look here on ‘a Sequin Dress’ as I head into day 2 of a full week in New York City. My days are packed with blogger events {the Independent Fashion Bloggers and Lucky Fashion and Beauty Bloggers – FABB}, designer shows {BCBG, Rebecca Minkoff, Herve Leger, Erin Fetherston}, and Fashion’s Night Out {Thursday!} I kicked it off with a full-on fall look yesterday with leather on leather and my new maroon oxfords.

Today I’m taking off for a 10 day East Coast tour, heading first to Topsail Island, North Carolina for a wedding, then on to New York City Monday for Fashion Week. Packing for one trip is no easy task, so add on a whole separate trip + undependable weather + fashion week…and it’s a chaotic packing nightmare. (I’m scared to try to lift my suitcase.) Follow along to keep up with all my adventures via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

studded

 I have been on the hunt for the perfect studded belt ever since seeing Carrie Bradshaw rock the same one over and over (and over you’ll notice if you watch carefully) in the Sex and the City movie. As I was checking out the other day at one of my favorite local shops, out of the corner of my eye I spotted this look-alike studded number, and it was perfect. Some belts are meant to be.

I say this is fall love list part 1 since I’m not quite sure how many of these there will be…but it’s quite certain there will be multiple. For round 1 – these are the things I’m most on the hunt for these days…specifically as I prepare for another whirlwind dreamy week in NYC. What’s on your fall love list?

fall lust

{gifted python print matisse footwear boots}

I’ve spent an above average amount of time in the air lately thanks to several flights around the country, which means I’ve had a fair amount of time to catch up on my favorite mags. This comes at a perfect time as the thick glossy September issues are lining the racks of every store, and I like to savor each page of every issue, {at least a couple times over.} This, along with a few chilly evenings, has fast-tracked my lust for all things fall, from darker jewel-toned nails, to all things leather, to perfectly pristine boots just waiting to be worn with tights and leggings.

While I can say with certainty I will never own a pair of pajama jeans, it wouldn’t be out of the question to call my most recent frock purchase a pajama dress. Super soft, cozy cotton, the pale gray color, and just the right looseness all make for what could comfortably be worn to bed. Instead, I decided to make it dinner-appropriate by just adding some boots and sparkly earrings. No frills, no statement necklaces, no belt…just simple and comfy. If only every dress could be this easy to wear.

chloe girl

I don’t know how anyone could ever part with their Chloe gladiator sandals, but it made me one happy girl. I found these recently at my favorite local consignment shop and they’ve hardly been off my feet since. Although summer is flying by faster than I can keep up, these are sure to get plenty of use before the first chill hits. They are also getting to take up some precious space in my carry-on bag I’m taking this weekend as I travel to sunny Florida. Have a great weekend!
