leather lady

I’m {jumping up and down!} excited to debut a colorful + fun new look here on ‘a Sequin Dress’ as I head into day 2 of a full week in New York City. My days are packed with blogger events {the Independent Fashion Bloggers and Lucky Fashion and Beauty Bloggers – FABB}, designer shows {BCBG, Rebecca Minkoff, Herve Leger, Erin Fetherston}, and Fashion’s Night Out {Thursday!} I kicked it off with a full-on fall look yesterday with leather on leather and my new maroon oxfords.

dream shoe

I never win anything (ok just once-I won $222 from putting $1 in a slot machine last year in Vegas! I squealed with delight, cashed in my ticket, and headed straight to the Marc store…) but other than that, winning luck is not my thing. But last week while in NYC at the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference, I tweeted ‘I desire it. @jeffsilverman makes it. Follow him & retweet for chance to win free custom-made shoes or handbag. #IFBcon’

Winning just about anything is exciting in my book, but winning this totally takes the cake in the world of prizes. I get to literally design my own pair of shoes or handbag-into completely anything I dream up! I’m totally set on creating a pair of shoes…but stuck on where to go from there! Platform, wedge, boot, heel, flat, leopard, patent leather, python print, redorangeyellowgreenblue??????! I give specifications for every single detail-from color of laces or buttons, even the color of the sole! Eeeeeek the possibilities have me overwhelmed and I need to give this some serious thought! So once I create my dream shoe, Jeff Silverman not only makes it come to life, but then it will be available for anyone else to purchase! Serious dream come true. I need to get started now…I have a few ideas but suggestions are welcome! Just to get the shoe wheels turning, here is the shoe that Gala Darling is in the process of creating. Perfect fit for her, no?
