{new dvf sunnies as a little pre nyfw treat}

Today I’m taking off for a 10 day East Coast tour, heading first to Topsail Island, North Carolina for a wedding, then on to New York City Monday for Fashion Week. Packing for one trip is no easy task, so add on a whole separate trip + undependable weather + fashion week…and it’s a chaotic packing nightmare. (I’m scared to try to lift my suitcase.) Follow along to keep up with all my adventures via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

chloe girl

I don’t know how anyone could ever part with their Chloe gladiator sandals, but it made me one happy girl. I found these recently at my favorite local consignment shop and they’ve hardly been off my feet since. Although summer is flying by faster than I can keep up, these are sure to get plenty of use before the first chill hits. They are also getting to take up some precious space in my carry-on bag I’m taking this weekend as I travel to sunny Florida. Have a great weekend!

{only taking one pair of heels}

As I finished packing for California last night I realized how differently I pack for California versus New York. My New York bags are always packed with lots of heels and jewelry, dressy attire for day and night, and purses packed strategically to the brim with all sorts of ‘necessities.’ My California bag is much lighter – it’s all in a carry on!, and packed with my Converse, tees, casual dresses, and lightweight sweaters for night. On Monday I’ll be attending the Lucky Fashion and Beauty Bloggers conference (FABB!), and have partnered with Samsung to provide all sorts of fun real-time updates throughout the day. Have a great weekend!

{olive trees on the vineyard}

Last Friday morning kicked off a gorgeous and wine-filled trip to Napa Valley and San Francisco. We celebrated our friends wedding in Napa Valley at Tra Vigne, tasted wine at Rubicon, enjoyed early morning breakfast in St. Helena, and cruised around town with the top down in our rented little convertible as much as possible. Then it was off to San Fran for a couple days where we stayed in Union Square, feasted on crab at the Franciscan, strolled through Chinatown, sipped on a tequila flight at Mamacitas, did an olive oil tasting at We Olive, and visited the Golden Gate Bridge in a torrential downpour. (Where we were forced to make 2 unfortunate purchases of function over fashion plastic ponchos). Looking forward to getting back to visit as soon as possible!

{attempting to carry on my luggage...still crossing my fingers}

I’m heading out bright and early tomorrow for a Napa Valley wedding weekend. I’m super excited as it’s my first time in Napa and we’ll be celebrating, wining, and dining with a bunch of friends for the next couple days. I’ll also be spending a little time in San Francisco, so to entertain you while I’m wine-ing away I have several sweet guest bloggers covering for me. If you have any ‘must see’s’ for Napa or San Fran…let me know!

*Does this make anyone else think of the famous Carrie Bradshaw quote, ‘If you’re tired, you take a nap-a, you don’t move to Napa.’

concrete jungle

I didn’t post yesterday, and I feel weirdly guilty about it! The day flew by, and with girls night ending just after midnight (whoohoo!!) I just didn’t have a second to write! The cupcakes were a success and girls night was fabulous as always! So in a few short weeks my vacay destination will be walking in the left lane with the boyfriend here…
I’m super giddy for my 3rd trip to the Big Apple, and am already composing my list of ‘must sees.’ But I need all and any tips/advice/suggestions for restaurants, sights, and of course…shops in New York City!! Appropriate timing with the upcoming release of Sex and the City 2, no?
