{vintage sunglasses, h&m dress, leather vest c/o Modly Chic, Giorgie Jewelry skull bracelet, marc by marc jacobs purse}

One thing I always try to make time to do while in NYC is to spend some time in Brooklyn. On Saturday, my heels and I had a brief breakup and a friend and I took a ferry over to hit up the Brooklyn Flea and some nearby shops. As usual, my favorite trip purchases were found here, which included a pair of vintage sunglasses reminiscent of these House of Harlow ones I’d been lusting for, and an insanely cool gold skull bracelet from Giorgie Jewelry. I was excited to wear my new-to-me leather vest, which I got from the ModSwap event and was previously owned/loved by Katy Rose of Modly Chic. I adore it’s broken in feel, and it was perfect for a Brooklyn afternoon.

Fred Flare holds a special place in my heart. From my first purchase of the gold faux-lex, to the super cute + handy map of Brooklyn they included in my first online order (which I kept in my purse for over a year as a constant reminder to get back to NYC as soon as possible)…

…to my giddy first time visiting their one and only store in Brooklyn last month-I have always adored their mix of cute clothes, funky accessories, and cheeky home decor items. Lately I have been wearing my latest Fred Flare purchases nonstop-one being the leather lined Zoe dress, as it is the perfect thing to wear right now when it’s still warm out, but it’s officially the fall season. With it’s leather detailing around the neck and pockets, it constantly seems like the perfect thing to throw on-and inevitably, I’m always asked where it’s from.

My other most recent Fred Flare purchase that I’ve also been carrying every chance I get is the leopard print mini purse…it is the most parfait little pouch to carry my iphone, gloss, $$ (aka necessities) for a night out.

Fred Flare and I want you to have your own lovely Fred Flare experience, so they are giving away a $25 gift card to one lucky a Sequin Dress at Breakfast reader! To put yourself in the drawing just leave a comment below and let us know what Fred Flare item you’re dying to have!

I packed just as much in the last 24 hours of NYC as I did perhaps the first 4 days there. On my last night I attended the Juicy Couture after party, where the champagne, mango margaritas, and french macaroons were abundant (overindulgent heaven!) It was raining, so I decided to give my feet a much needed break from 4 inch elevation and wore my Tory Burch revas. You know your feet are angry with you when even flats feel like daggers in your feet. Pictured here with my friend Natalie who was gracious enough to let me and half of my closet take over her NYC apartment for 5 nights, and blogger Andi from Tights and Bites.

Monday was spent running around with another stop in Brooklyn to hit up the adorable Fred Flare which I’d been dying to go to for months. Everyone from my cab driver to the sweet store manager, Bilgin, knew I was completely giddy to be shopping there. Left an even happier girl with a cross body leopard print purse and a military inspired shirt dress with leather detailing.

I finally went to the holy grail of New York Fashion Week, the Lincoln Center…

Heaven on earth…(cue angels singing)

Here I attended a blogger ‘tweet up’ which was hosted in the American Express skybox suite. I met Mr. Mickey from Papermag, who is such a fabulous divo.

Regretfully it was finally time to head back to the homeland, and after single-handedly dragging my 58 pound suitcase and god-knows-how-heavy overstuffed carry on (see brown faux fur on ground pictured below) and purse down 6 flights of an un-airconditioned staircase, my friend BJ was kind enough to spare me one last taxi ride and took me to the airport himself.

And so concludes 5 fab days in my favorite concrete jungle.
