While I can say with certainty I will never own a pair of pajama jeans, it wouldn’t be out of the question to call my most recent frock purchase a pajama dress. Super soft, cozy cotton, the pale gray color, and just the right looseness all make for what could comfortably be worn to bed. Instead, I decided to make it dinner-appropriate by just adding some boots and sparkly earrings. No frills, no statement necklaces, no belt…just simple and comfy. If only every dress could be this easy to wear.

There are things you plan and things that happen spontaneously. Chopping off about a good length of my hair happened with a bit of both. I’d been pondering a shorter do for awhile, but a few nights ago I decided I needed a haircut – literally right that moment. I called a nearby salon, and less than an hour later I had 3 less inches of hair. Sometimes it’s the little things that make you feel a lot lighter on your feet.

December is officially here, and that means it’s (maybe past) time to start finding the perfect gifts. {as I mentioned, I got zero Christmas shopping done on or around Black Friday…the whole idea of it gives me anxiety}. While I start to hunt down the right gifts for my loved ones, I can’t help but start putting together a little wish list of my own-also a perfect gift guide for any girly girl. A much needed new wallet in adorable polka dots, fuschia pants perfect to brighten up any dreary day, a big pretty gold bow for my wrist, and an oversized silver watch for days when the gold one just won’t do are all the things that I’d flip for if I found under the tree…what about you? {worry not…more gift guides + (multiple!) gift giveaways are coming soon!}

{marc by marc jacobs dotty snake stamped wallet, rachel rachel roy skull necklace, michael kors silver mens watch, kate spade bow cuff, kate spade black wedges, asos fuschia pants, deborah lippman nail polish party set, leif glitter tart server}

{polka dot top swapped from jasmine of transient withdrawal, diy inspiration here}

I’ve always loved a good DIY project and have documented several here on my blog. Over the past few weeks, I’ve worn several things that were purchased, but people have asked if I did them myself. While I’m wishing I would have thought of trying to DIY before purchasing, it’s made me open my mind to all sorts of crafty new projects.
{pearl collar seen here, marc jacobs zipper necklace seen here, both potential diy’s}
{glitter shoes seen here, now i’m eyeing all my shoes to see what i can attack next}

Tomorrow is the last day to vote (all you can!) for my look in the White House Black Market style challenge. I would love your votes here-thank you!

Every night this week has been busy with plans, and with an upcoming weekend vacation it’s seemed pointless to visit the grocery store recently. So the boyfriend and I took advantage of our empty pantry and open night to have a seafood date at a favorite downtown spot. I’m getting more and more anxious to dress like it’s fall, but I’m trying my best to save my favorites until cooler weather hits. In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy every day of wearing open-toed shoes, no coat, breezy tops, and a slight tan. {Confession: after dinner we indulged in ordering 2 desserts…but the waitress accidentally brought us 3. We happily/guiltily ate them all.}

The weather has finally become steady and reliable, and the hot sunny summer I’ve been dreaming of is (finally) here. Being that it’s by far my favorite season of the year, I’m trying to spend as much time outside and as little time inside as possible. Even on the hottest of heat advisory days, I’m pro-outdoor seating for every possible meal. Since I want to take advantage of every warm sunny minute, I like my clothing to be simple, lightweight, and easy to throw on. Any of these items would fit the bill quite nicely.

modcloth, butterscotch latte dress, $64.99
marc by marc jacobs, printed silk dress, $280
j crew, toga dress, $99.99
american eagle, sweet printed sundress, $44.50
