I remember going to a friends house in high school and being completely fascinated with the wrapped presents under her Christmas tree-but it wasn’t because the gifts were significant in size or shape. It was because every single one was wrapped so incredibly beautiful, with huge ribbons and ornate tags. While I now look forward to wrapping presents, it is only because I try to keep the right supplies on hand. A few of my essentials include clear cellophane, metallic star wire, bright colored ribbon, brown craft paper, and fun knick-knacks for a unique topper. My wrapped gifts are nowhere near the ornate ones I used to lust after, but with a few simple additions you can create a gift presentation that is just as fun to look at as it is to open. I am a firm believer that all Christmas presents do not need to be wrapped in traditional holiday wrapping paper with store bought stick-on bows. Not that there’s anything wrong with that-but isn’t it so much fun to open a present that has been wrapped as carefully as the gift was chosen?
